IMPORTANT UPDATE RE: PSEC BEGINNER EVENT AND COMBINED TEST XXII

This is a long one but please read to the end.

Closing date for Pendragon Stud’s Beginner Event and Combined Test to be held June 6th is creeping up on us, so I’m sending this reminder to send your entries soon. No checks will be deposited before closing date so, if anything should happen, you may call me and cancel your entry without penalty up to the time checks are deposited.

WE WILL CLOSE ENTRIES THE 23RD BECAUSE OF THE SCHEDULING CHALLENGES.

We want everyone to have an enjoyable time at our show and to be safe from COVID-19 with the understanding that there is no way to guarantee not getting contaminated. With this in mind, we will be taking the following precautions:

1. We will not have a concession stand this year (volunteers will have the option to take a sack lunch we will provide or bring your own),
2. We will be scheduling differently in order to minimize the number of people on the grounds at a time,
3. If you feel ill or have symptoms, please stay home,
4. We ask that you self-monitor your temperature. Anything up to 99.5 degrees is acceptable,
5. Barn access is limited to PSEC clients only,
6. There will be no spectators this year. Trainers and parents are, of course, welcome,
7. We ask that you practice social distancing and wear masks in areas where people may congregate,
8. We will sanitize common surfaces often, and volunteers in congested areas will wear masks,
9. We can accept entries via email (cotreehugr@gmail.com) or fax (303.688.0266) and payment through PayPal (*see below) as well as through the mail,
10. We ask that everyone fills out your entry forms as completely as possible, with all signatures affixed, in order to minimize contact for the secretary assistant who will be checking you in,
11. Pony Clubbers will be parked in a separate area away from the other competitors.

There is more information on USEventing.com on how to stay safe at competitions.

We offer Green-as-Grass, Intro and Lead-line 3-phase classes OR Beginner Novice thru Preliminary combined tests AND dressage test-of-choice AND an extra show jump round following your class ($5.) A pdf file is attached or go to our website www.PendragonEventing.com for information and entry form (under Fast Links, Forms, BE & CT Entry Form.

If you aren’t planning to show, please consider volunteering. We need a lot of help to put this show on, so if you can help in any way - before, during or after, please call the volunteer coordinator, Carol Jones, at 720.346.4478. Free lunch and a small trinket of gratitude for all volunteers - and it's fun!

*We now can be paid through PayPal! Sign into your PayPal account (or sign up - it is free),  then go to my account (cotreehugr@gmail.com), click on “send to friend” and send from your bank account (so there won’t be a fee) and put in the amount. Easy peasy.

Thank you,

PSEC BEGINNER EVENT AND COMBINED TEST XXII JUNE 6TH

PSEC BEGINNER EVENT AND COMBINED TEST XXII

Closing Date: extended to May 23rd (it will be here before you know it!)

Pass the word - we are going forward with our show on June 6th so it is a "go" again this year (22 years and counting)! Opening date has come and gone but there’s still time to get your entry in. But PLEASE send them soon as we will be doing things differently this year due to Covid-19. The scheduling will be such that we will have the fewest number of people on the grounds at a time. Since this is something we’ve not done before, I ask everyone to send your entries as soon as possible so I can play around with how this is going to work. We will be taking other precautions as well.

This fun event offers a schooling 3-phase event (dressage, cross-country and stadium) @ Green-as-Grass and Elementary levels. And new this year - a lead-line 3-phase! The unrecognized Combined Test offers dressage and show jumping rides from Elementary through Preliminary levels. The 3-Phase Event is $110.00 per entry (except the lead-line class is $65.00); the Combined Test is only $65.00 per division until closing date; after that, add $10.00. Dressage only classes are only $20.00 each and extra show jumping rounds are $5.00. We are also hosting the RMR Pony Club unrated/D rally - contact your DC or the RS for more information. Check our website, PendragonEventing.com/Events/Beginner Event & Combined Test for information and the entry form or call us 303.688.4147. Your checks will not be deposited until after closing date. Before then, if you have to cancel for any reason, I will shred your check and entry, so you will not be penalized for getting your entry in early.

We need a lot of help to put this show on, so if you can help in any way - before, during or after, please call Carol Jones at 720.346.4478. Free lunch and a small trinket of gratitude for all volunteers - and it's fun!

Thank you for your support,

Leslie, Laura & Madeline

Updated PSEC Covid-19 Barn Guidelines as of April 26th:

1. Barn hours are from 8am-6:30pm. If you need to come after those times because of work, please let me know and we will make arrangements. I would like to have a sign up sheet for hours and those hours to be consistent for the next several weeks.  Please let me know what time frame works for you. Each horse will have a one hour time frame.

2. No more than 4 people from different families at the barn at the same time. Everyone needs to maintain at least 6 foot distance and wear masks when in the barn.

3. Horses will be tacked up in their stalls. If you have a horse outside, you may bring them into the wash rack only.

4 If you are sick, please do not come to the barn.

5 Trailer-ins may come at their appointed times; however, no tacking up or coming through the barn for any reason.

6. No more than 3 riders at a time in the indoor.

7. All school horse lessons and pony club lessons will start up May 10th with above precautions being honored.

I am also open to any other suggestions. Please feel free to text me with any additions or suggestions.

PSEC Covid-19 Barn Guidelines:

In an effort to keep from closing down the barn all together, we will implement these safety measures:

1. Barn hours are from 9am-4:30pm. If you need to come after those times because of work, please let me know and we will make arrangements. I have a sign up sheet on the barn bulletin board for hours that work for you. I would like your times to be consistent for the next several weeks. Please let me know what time frame works for you. Each horse will have a one hour time frame.

2. No more than 2 people from different families at the barn at the same time. Everyone needs to maintain at least 6 foot distance.

3. Horses will be tacked up in their stalls. If you have a horse outside, you may bring them into the wash rack only.

4. Everyone must wear gloves. Please dispose of gloves in garbage can. Please spray everything with disinfectant both before and after you touch it. This is to include handles in and out of every room and the toilet seat :) We are presently using and recommend using a spray bottle of 50:50 chlorhexadine and water.

5. If you are sick, please do not come to the barn .

6. Only trailer-ins that have been in quarantine at their own houses for at least 14 days will be allowed in to use the indoor. No more than 2 riders at a time in the indoor. No coming through the barn for any reason. Parking will be by the indoor, not up by the hay barn please. If it’s muddy, stay off grassy areas. There is enough room to turn around just on east side of barn. You must text Laura before coming.

7. All school horse lessons and Pony Club lessons will be postponed until May 3rd.

I am also open to any other suggestions. Please feel free to text me with any additions or suggestions.
