June 16th, Round Top Horse Trials

Three generations have won at Round Top Horse Trials!

Madeline Backus’ win with P.S. King of Hearts at Round Top Horse Trials in the Beginner Novice Horse division on June 16th represents three generations to win Libby Stokes’ event. They finished on their dressage score of 24.8 to win their class and were also 1st place Young Rider. Leslie (Tasset) Terry won the Novice division in 1989 on her wonderful Thoroughbred, Quiet Man; Leslie is Madeline’s maternal grandmother. Laura (Paling-Claborn) Backus, Madeline’s mother, won the event at Training Level riding her talented Thoroughbred, Tyberius, in 1992.
