March 5 - 8 Red Hills Horse Trials (FL)

How ‘bout our upper level riders, Madeline and Christina!

Madeline Backus and P.S. Arianna rode in the CIC** division and finished 10th in their first two star

Christina Henriksen and Princess Pavan also finished 10th in the CIC* division

To put their placings in perspective, in the 1-star division there were 48 starters and 20% did not finish; in the 2-star division there were 58 starters and 30% did not finish and no one went clean-and-clear cross-country. To just finish at such a tough competition like this is respectable; to finish in the top half gives bragging rights; but to finish in the top 10 is an amazing feat, especially as an amateur competing against pros. Great job you two!

February 27 - March 1 Rocking Horse Winter III HT (FL)

Team Pendragon Rocked at Rocking Horse Winter III HT!

The Jr. Beginner Novice class was hotly contested with Sophie Wiedenhues and Practical Magic III (Andi) finishing on top in 1st place and Cora Severs riding Infiniti (Finn) finishing a strong 3rd.

Madeline Backus had 3 rides and finished with a 1-2-3 punch! 1st in Open Novice A on Jill Hopcrofts’s horse Cady O’Daly Michael (Gabe’s full brother), 2nd on another of Jill’s horses, Zinderella in Open Novice B and 3rd on her horse P.S. On Top Of The World (Vinny) in his first Novice.

Janet Gordon and Irish Blessings (Besty) finished 4th in a large Sr. Novice class on their dressage score (double clears on both jumping phases).

What a great weekend!

February 13-15 Ocala Winter II HT had a record number of starters and Team PSEC was there!

Christina Henriksen and Princess Pavan finished on their dressage score in a very competitive Preliminary Rider division and brought home the blue!

Janet Gordon and Irish Beginnings (Besty) also finished on their dressage score of 27.5 to finish 2nd in a large Open Beginner Novice division.

Madeline Backus and P.S. On Top Of The World (Vinnie) moved up from their dressage score with clean and clear rounds in show jumping and cross-country to finish 6th in their Open Beginner Novice division.

Cora Severs and Infiniti (Finn) and Sophie Wiedenhues and Practical Magic III (Andi) both had great rides in the Jr. Beginner Novice division; Cora finished 2nd and Sophie came home with 5th place.

Great job, all.
